Mouse 30 Koa #1564. This fretted Mouse 30 model has a semi-hollow alder body, with a premium curly koa top (from old stock, aged over 50 years-perfect for instrument making). This is a “drop top” model sans binding, with a substantial arm contour, ala certain instruments made in Fullerton California in the 50’s…..The 30” scale neck is made from eastern black walnut, with an aged Indian rosewood fingerboard, and the integrated thumbrest option. The frets are tiny mandolin sized, which allow for very low action, and due to the nylon outer wrap on the La Bella 760n string, get virtually no wear. Having a minimal amount of metal in the string path allows for a warm woody tone, producing the same overall warm/round sound as the fretless models, only with frets.
